How AccessLaw UK collects, uses, and protects your data.

Data we collect

We collect the minimum data needed to operate the platform:

  • Account details (name, email) when you sign up.
  • Matter data you create (titles, descriptions, notes).
  • Sources retrieved from official UK public APIs.
  • Drafts you generate and edit.
  • Evidence items you add.
  • Deadlines you create.
  • Audit logs of serious actions (connector calls, draft generation, exports).

How we use your data

  • To operate the platform and deliver the workflows you request.
  • To retrieve official sources on your behalf.
  • To prepare drafts through the server-side drafting engine.
  • To maintain audit logs for accountability.

Draft processing

When you create a draft, your matter data is processed by the drafting engine. We use providers that do not train on user inputs and maintain data processing terms covering UK GDPR.

Your data is processed only on your action. It is never used for model training.

Data retention

Your data is retained until you delete it. You can delete individual matters or your entire account at any time.

Audit logs are retained for a reasonable period for accountability, then anonymised or deleted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your data.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your data.
  • Export your data.
  • Object to processing.

Third parties

We share data with:

  • Official UK public APIs (GOV.UK, Companies House) to retrieve sources.
  • Drafting infrastructure used only when you choose to create a draft.
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers (encrypted at rest and in transit).

We do not sell your data.
