About AccessLaw UK

The source-backed Legal OS for UK legal workflows.

What is AccessLaw UK?

AccessLaw UK is a legal information and workflow platform for the United Kingdom. It helps individuals, legal professionals, SMEs, charities, and researchers convert official UK public data into structured workflows, source-backed drafts, deadlines, evidence packs, and audit-ready outputs.

The platform is deliberately positioned as information and workflow assistance, not legal advice.

How it works

  1. Create a matter for your legal or public-service workflow.
  2. Search official UK sources (GOV.UK, Companies House) and save them to the matter.
  3. Run a workflow (FOI, SAR, complaint, escalation, company verification).
  4. Generate a source-backed draft with citations, deadlines, and evidence checklists.
  5. Edit the draft, export to DOCX/PDF/Markdown, and send it yourself.

Source-backed by design

Every draft generated by AccessLaw UK can only cite sources that have been retrieved and saved to the matter. The system does not invent legal citations or source content.

This makes outputs auditable and trustworthy, while keeping the platform firmly in the information-only boundary.

Relationship to Open Access UK

Open Access UK is the free, open-source, public-good access-to-justice project. AccessLaw UK is the commercial legal workflow platform built on similar principles but with professional features, team workspaces, and paid plans.

The two projects are separate. Open Access UK remains free and open-source.

Future modules

After the MVP, we plan to build:

  • Legal research lite (legislation, case law, Parliament).
  • AccessLaw Records (Charity Commission, advanced due diligence).
  • AccessLaw Monitor (Parliament bills, statutory instruments, policy alerts).
  • AccessLaw MCP for developer APIs and workflow tools.
  • Team workspaces, billing, and enterprise features.
